Night of the Bats
Under the bridge at the historic Palace Cukrarna visitors of the Lighting Guerrilla festival, witnessed the animated awakening of the colour bats that fluttered at three unique locations.
The old Cukrarna was the place of workers, a sugar factory, the refuge of the last days of Slovene poets and then a homeless shelter. It represents the fate of abandonment that the building experienced after multiple fires. This year on the evening of twilight, we revived it through the cave atmosphere, where an isolated bats were hunting the swarms of insects. They remind us of theories of true worlds, which address us at the most sublime moments. From the individual interactions between colourful shades of bats and their chaotic movements, alternating circles and ellipses began to form the new virtual order.
